How we work

Direct pay, explained

Last updated: July 29, 2026

The short version. You pay us directly for your care, at prices published on our website. We do not bill your insurance for our services. In exchange you get longer appointments, direct access to your physician, no surprise bills, and a level of privacy that insurance billing cannot offer. Your prescription medication is separate, and your insurance may well cover it.

1. What direct pay means

Finding Her MD does not contract with health insurance companies and does not submit claims for the care we provide. You pay the practice directly, at the time of service or as a monthly membership fee, and the price you see published is the price you pay.

This is sometimes called direct pay, cash pay, or a concierge model. Whatever it is called, the mechanics are the same: there is no insurer between you and your physician deciding what is covered, how long your appointment can be, or what has to be documented to justify it.

2. Why we chose it

3. What it costs

Everything we charge is published on the home page. Nothing is quoted privately and nothing changes based on what you can afford to pay.

ServicePrice
Discovery call, 10 minutesFree
Initial consultation$250
Follow-up visit$150
Finding Her Membership$150 / month
Weight Management Membership$150 / month
Botox® Cosmetic$14 / unit

Prices are current as of the date at the top of this page and may change. Any change will be published here and on the home page before it takes effect for existing members.

4. What direct pay is not

Direct pay is not health insurance, and it is not a substitute for it. It does not cover hospitalisation, emergency care, surgery, imaging, specialist referrals, or anything else outside this practice. You should carry health insurance. Finding Her MD sits alongside your coverage, not in place of it.

It is also not primary care. We are a specialty wellness practice. We do not replace your primary care physician or your gynaecologist, and we encourage every patient to keep an ongoing relationship with both for preventive care, screenings, and chronic disease management.

5. Medication is separate

Our fees cover the physician's care: the consultation, the plan, the monitoring, the messaging, and the coaching. They do not cover the cost of any medication you are prescribed.

You have two routes for prescription medication, and you may use either:

6. Privacy and your medical record

This is one of the real advantages of the model, and it is worth being precise about what it does and does not mean.

What direct pay does: because we submit no claims, there is no claim record of your visit with any health plan. Your insurer is not told that you were seen, what you were seen for, or what was discussed. Nothing is added to your records at any other practice, and nothing is shared with your other physicians, your family, or your employer unless you specifically ask us to share it.

What direct pay does not do: it does not mean no record exists. Every physician is required to keep a medical record of the care they provide, and we do. That record is confidential, held by this practice, and protected under HIPAA and Ohio law. You can request a copy at any time. We release it to anyone else only with your written authorisation, or in the narrow circumstances the law requires.

In practice: what you tell Dr. Magee about your drinking, your libido, your weight, or your mood stays between you and Dr. Magee. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

7. How to pay

Consultations are paid at the time of service. Memberships are billed monthly on the date you joined.

8. Membership and cancellation

Membership is month to month. There is no contract, no minimum term, and no cancellation fee. Tell us you would like to stop and your billing stops at the end of the current month. You do not need to give a reason.

Refer a woman who joins and your next month is free. There is no cap on how many months you can earn this way.

Still have questions? The discovery call is free, ten minutes, and exists precisely for this. Ask about cost, privacy, or anything else before you decide.
